Some may have proglem using pogo shell. Well some may find this util use full and some may not. So try it out. Its a GUI util that shows your how to add files any files into the pogo shell root and compile it. Heres the website for screen shots. And heres the link to download.

Hey guys the new pogo is up for grabs here. The new pogo has the XP look window and its really cool !!! New version of PogoShell 0.97 has been released! (Pogoshell is a GBA program that lets you browse and handle files in a Flash Advance Card ROM file system, almost like in Windows Explorer. Supports BMP, TXT and sound files + I also included PogoNES plugging that will add support for .NES roms. So now to play NES ROMS on gba you just have to copy them into the PogoShell \ROOT\ folder - turn on your Flash Advance Linker and run GO.BAT All the files will be flashed to the FA Card and in your gameboy you can run *.nes files as if they were .exe files on PC ;)

If somebody didn't believe that real 3D is possible on GBA he should take a look at the new V Rally 3 for GAMEBOY Advance! This game reminds me of the good old Need For Speed running on Play Station or Panasonic 3DO! Who would have thought this kind of 3D game would be possible on a Handheld!!! In my opinion this is the best looking most detailed Gameboy Advance 3D racing game up to date! (I hope they use this engine to make many more great racing games!) Also this goes to show that GBA is capable of much more than what Super NES could do!

AGB Games are dead keen to show off their new WFR engine which, they say, "Can now represent arbitrary polygons rendered with full perspective correction at real time frame rates."
What this actually means is that they reckon it's possible to pull off 3D games similar to Wipeout or Quake on GBA. They've even gone so far as to create a demo of a simplified version of the entrance to Quake using the WFR engine, boasting up to 60 frames a second.

Recently new type of Flash Advance Linker was announced! FA Linker Xtream can use both USB and Printer port to connect to PC. When using USB it works ~30% faster and the linker doesnt requier seperate power supply or batteries like the older linker did.
FA Linker Xtreme is compatible with old 64M, 128M and 256M Flash Advance Cards and also is the Linker you will need for the new 512M card!

So to sum it up - if you already have a FA linker and cards you could get FA Linker Xtream to save a bit of time and batteries, but if you are just now thinking about getting a Linker and Flash Cards you should definatly get the USB version, becouse the extra $10 you spend on FA Xtreme will save you a lot more in batteries and it will be compatible with all Flash Advance Cartridges past and future.

Pogoshell is a GBA program that lets you browse and handle files in a Flash Advance Card ROM filesystem, almost like in Windows Explorer. You simply copy all files you want (both data files .txt .bmp and executable GBA roms) into a root directory on PC, sort it the way you want under subdirectories and than Flash it!

QUICKSTART
- Add any files you need to the included \ROOT directory. (you can make any directories you like and add gba roms text or bmp image files)
- Conncet FA Linker and run GO.BAT
Bmpviewer only handles 8bit or 24bit pictures that are 240x160 or less.

Well do you remember the joke about Office XP on the Gameboy - with software like this we are not far from really having XP on GBA! And this is not a joke!

Set Up Flash Advance Writer to use the new GBXmenu: unzip GBXmenu.zip > open Flash Advance Writer > in [Config] menu chose [GBA Pre. Boot] > browse to where you have stored the GBXmenu file > click [OK]

So what we get is start up menu with good looking fonts and SRAM editor that can be used to HACK game saves and add extra lives and so on... Really cool if you are little tiered of the old "blue screen of pre-booting" ;)

Star X is a cool 3D space action game much like STAR FOX. The graphics are better that StartFox on SNES but not as good as on N64 ;) You are a last surviving pilot of a diplomatic mission that was sent to meet a new alien race. You didn't have a warm welcoming so now you got to get back home and worn your people... Not too original "Your here to save the world! Again" kind of stuff. Well you get to see a nice little ingame scene at the start that reminded me of good old Wing Commander. The Bad guys look like they could be rated to Wing Commandeer series ;) Game play is the same as StarFox - some levels you are free to fly around some you have a direction you have to fly in and you cant change that, but because there is so much action you don't notice the fact that you don't have as much freedom as you would have in a Flight Simulator game. There is a good variation in levels and I think I will play this game for some time. And because so far this is the only 3D space shooter we have it is also the best. I hope we get some more games like this and better! I would rate it 9/10.
